While there have been many bellydancing groups around our region over the last 20 years, they all share one thing in common...NEMEDA.
NEMEDA is a not-for-profit organisation with one purpose; to connect and enable bellydancers across Albury/Wodonga & surrounding regions.
We started in Benalla before moving to the Border in 1997. Since then, we've proudly been supporting local dancers and teachers through classes and events, as well as sharing bellydance with the public through performances and workshops.
Our nationally renowned festival, Fire in the Belly, was moved to Albury/Wodonga in 1999. It runs every second year and continues to give local and visiting dancers access to study with professional dancers and musicians from across Australia, as well as international artists and local talent.
As we enter our third decade, we're still committed to creating a safe and affordable environment for dancers to share their love of bellydance. We also enjoy advocating bellydance as a fun, tasteful and creative dance art to the community.
